Uninstalling AutoCAD 2021 and Older

For AutoCAD 2021 and previous releases, Autodesk provides a dedicated Uninstall Tool. This is the most efficient method because it automatically detects and removes the core application alongside its associated Material Libraries in one go.

Steps to Use the Autodesk Uninstall Tool

1. Click the Start button in the bottom-left corner of your desktop, navigate to the Autodesk folder, and select Uninstall Tool.
   
2. The Autodesk Uninstall Tool window will open. Check the box next to the AutoCAD version you want to remove. The associated Material Library will automatically be selected.
   
3. Click the Uninstall button to begin the removal process.
   
4. Once the process is complete, a green checkmark will appear next to the successfully uninstalled applications. You can now close the tool.
   

Uninstalling AutoCAD 2022 and Newer

If you are using AutoCAD 2022 or a newer release, you will notice it is missing from the Autodesk Uninstall Tool. Autodesk deprecated the tool for newer versions, meaning you must rely on standard Windows features to remove the software.

Critical Note: Because you are doing this manually, you must also actively search for and delete any related Material Libraries and background apps to achieve a truly clean uninstall.

Steps to Uninstall via Windows Apps & Features

1. Right-click the Start button on your desktop and select Apps and Features.
   
2. Scroll through the list or use the search bar to find AutoCAD. Click on it, then click the Uninstall button.
   
3. A confirmation prompt will appear. Click Uninstall again to proceed.
   
4. If prompted by User Account Control (UAC), click Yes to allow changes to your device.
5. When the AutoCAD uninstall dialog box opens, click Uninstall to initiate the removal.
   
6. The core AutoCAD application is now removed.
7. Do not stop here. To prevent future conflicts, go back to your Apps & Features list and uninstall all remaining Autodesk Material Libraries, language packs, and related plugins installed on the same date.
