When it is time to send your 3D models to manufacturing or collaborate with a client using AutoCAD, you need a clean, accurate file export. However, many engineers get frustrated when they try to export from Autodesk Fusion 360, only to find the specific file format they need is unavailable or greyed out.

Method 1: The Standard Local Export

If your file is already saved and you need a standard format (like the native .f3d archive file), exporting directly from the desktop application is the fastest method.

1. Click the File icon (dropdown menu) in the top-left corner and select Export.
   
2. Enter a Name for your exported file.
   
3. Select your desired Type (File Format) from the dropdown menu.
   
   (Note: If the format you need is missing, skip to Method 2).
4. Specify your save Location by clicking the ... button.
   
5. Choose your local folder and click Save.
   
6. Finally, click the blue Export button.

Method 3: Exporting via Fusion Team (Web Browser)

If you are away from your workstation and don't have the desktop app installed, you can trigger an export directly from your web browser using Fusion Team (Autodesk Web Drive).

1. Log in to your Fusion Team / Autodesk Web Account.
2. Navigate to your project folder. To make it easier, ensure "All Projects" is selected in the filter.
   
3. Locate your file, click the Export icon next to the file name, and select your desired file format from the dropdown menu.
